HGH vs Steroids

One of the questions we get asked a lot is how HGH therapy stacks up against steroids for improving health. And while everyone wants to be at their best, there’s no magic bullet when it comes to achieving balanced health.

There are a wide range of so-called ‘miracle’ solutions on the market. You know the ones; protein powders, vitamins and a range of other products. They all make big promises, but the ones that fail to mention that you need to put in the work won’t take you where you want to.

That's where human growth hormone therapy comes in. Combining HGH with a healthy exercise routine and diet are going to get you the best results. But how does HGH fit with steroids?

Many people mistakenly believe that HGH is a steroid, which is not the case. HGH is a protein-based hormone released into the bloodstream by the pituitary gland and then distributed by the liver.

Steroids such as testosterone are also produced in the body. While testosterone is produced by both men and women, men produce much more than women’s bodies do.

Testosterone is an Anabolic Androgenic Steroid (AAS). Which means that it enhances cell growth and promotes masculine traits, such as increased muscle mass. But steroids tend to have side effects that can be very unhealthy, particularly in women.

Some of the more common side effects of steroids include:

  • Acne and oily skin and hair
  • Loss of hair
  • Tumors and/or cysts on the liver, liver disease
  • Kidney disorders
  • Heart attack and/or stroke
  • Mood swings and/or aggression
  • Depression and suicidal tendencies
  • Cholesterol issues
  • Hypertension
  • Gynecomastia or breast enlargement in men
  • Shrinkage of the testicles
  • Azoospermia or a lack of sperm in semen
  • Menstrual issues in women
  • Infertility problems
  • Excessive hair growth
  • Deeper voice in women

Anabolic steroids can also be addictive, causing hormonal rebound symptoms at the end of therapy.

With HGH you get many of the same benefits as with steroids, without the dangerous side effects. HGH also has the added benefits such as smoothing the skin and thickening the hair.

All without the dangers of steroids.

Should you mix steroids with HGH therapy? For women, the answer is a resounding no. For men, be aware that you should never mix steroids with HGH therapy without discussing it with your healthcare provider.

Given the dangers and potential side effects of steroids, you need physician approval.

But one thing you should always keep in mind is that the benefits of HGH speak for themselves. You don’t need to mix it with steroids to get great results.
